There were a couple of small brown spots on my white leather gloves and I wanted to try and clean them. So I dabbed on some leather cleaner and OMG the small brown spots have disappeared but are now replaced by larger beige spots! I think I might have ruined my right glove. I am not happy. More stress is the last thing I need on top of the sewing I still need to get done.

Maybe a little white leather shoe polish?

I think the problem is that they weren't colour-fast so the cleaner took out the colour. Going to look into finding some sort of whitener tomorrow. Thanks!

Is there some sort of oil in the cleaner? If it's oil, you can powder it with cornstarch or talcum powder and let it sit overnight, and it should take care of it. You can also try a little rubbing alcohol and see if that will help. I've also read somewhere that a paste made of lemon juice and cream of tartar works for discoloration, which sounds totally weird.

If all else fails, there are kits out there specifically to take care of leather discoloration. If you have a Tandy Leather or other leather store nearby, you might take the glove to them and see what they recommend!

Thanks for the tips! I'll give the powder a try. If it doesn't work then I'll take them in to some leather place tomorrow.
