As Promised...

Some pictures! These are from when I went to the Costume Museum last year for their exhibit on wedding dresses. Lots of pictures full-length and up-close detail ones too. (Yes, I did go on the floor to try to photograph the insides under the skirts. Not very effectively, however.) So I hope you enjoy these and maybe find them helpful in some way as well. Just noticed

I uploaded some other pictures of stuff that I've done this year that weren't Costume Museum related. These are two quilt squares that I decorated for laurenmonkey 's wedding quilt that sarahlizzi  put together. The first one is gauze tamboured with two hearts on a background of some random cheese-coloured silk that was in our basement sewing room. The second is dupioni (which was originally used for my grad dress, but I have so much left over that it is likely to be at least one more thing as well) that I embroidered with ordinary cotton embroidery floss. Lots of pictures because I'm so proud that I did all this work and stuck with it, so to save your screen...

Some non-sewing related content. This is a picture I painted for a friend before she permanently moved to Toronto as an apartment-warming gift. She's the one I'm going to visit soon. It's acrylic on some sort of canvas-covered board. The scene is taken from my province. Obviously not in the city though. It looks better the farther away you are from it. Probably because the colours start to blend instead of looking like the bunch of dots and dashes that they are. And in the pictures it's sitting on my piano music stand. :)
