Some pictures showing me in the bodice and skirt, now that they're sewn together and the skirt has closures. Still need to sew in a loop and button on the inside flap of the skirt to make sure it stays closed. In the side pic where I'm showing off the pocket, you can see that the skirt is inclined to open a bit. Don't want that happening!

Also, how the closure works:
The whole thing is open in the front. The bodice and skirt are two completely separate pieces that are whipstitched together at the waist.

However, the skirt and bodice are left separate at the front so that the skirt and bodice closures don't get in each others' way because they both overlap each other.

The skirt waistband has 2 snaps that get snapped together first, with the front gores overlapping.

Then the waistband is covered by bottom edge of the bodice when it's closed with all of it's numerous fastenings.

Very clever! It looks really great on you too, so elegant, you could totally use this as fancy "normal" clothes.

Thanks! I really like the overall lines of it too. I think I may need to make an actual dress based on this pattern. Once I get the shoulder pieces on this one, it'll definitely cross the line into "costume."

That was my thought too! It's stunning, and looks like something you would see on the runway today vs. a costume.

Thank you! I think the shoulder pieces will put it into costume territory, but I definitely want to make a backless dress like this in the future, kind of like the way Katherine made her Kings Landing dress into a sundress.

Thank you! I'm pretty proud of the construction and I'm really liking the way the back looks. I think that an open-backed dress may be in my future.

It looks fabulous!

I love the closure detail too--that sort of thing just makes me happy :)

Thanks! I love it when other people share those details. Lots of your stuff has been really helpful for those things. I actually remember finding out how a drop-front Regency dress works from your website! :)
