I baked cupcakes today. Now they're sitting around because I figured that frosting them would be better to do tomorrow since I didn't start baking until 5:00pm and I have all of tomorrow off. I made vanilla and chocolate ones, from a recipe for cake called Startlight cake. Isn't that pretty? I'm going to make a strawberry buttercream for them. I've never made buttercream before, so I hope it works out. I am super happy and excited for various reasons, namely that today I am done classes until Feb. 22 because it's Spring Break! Also on the plus side are cupcakes that taste delicious (I tried the one chocolate odd one out, now there's 42 instead of 43) and make the house smell all yummy, that I got an A- on an essay that I had a tough time with and that apparently most of the class did poorly on, that my mom brought home pizza so nobody had to cook supper, that my dad bought Valentine's Day roses for my mom and me, and that my mom bought me food colouring (Spring Break plans include making iced sugar cookies), but there's no yellow which makes me sad so I may need to go find some.

Now, as if that isn't all awesome enough (and I really think it is), tomorrow I get to sleep in, go out for lunch with friends for sushi at a really good sushi place, and hang out and go to a concert with all my friends tomorrow night because it'll be my birthday. Twenty-four... So weird to be in my mid-twenties. And, just because I want to share all the happiness of Spring Break, other activities for the week include: a Chinese New Year's Dinner with my family on Saturday, a possible singles hang-out for Valentine's Day, street hockey with friends, the aforementioned sugar cookies, and a trip to the States (not entirely sure where yet, but looks like Grand Forks, Fargo, and maybe Minneapolis, I've never been to the Mall of America) just to go somewhere during the break with a couple of friends. Hopefully sewing will also be accomplished. I think I can definitely finish the eyelets (then I could order ribbon for binding and such) and maybe work on some other things. CADD, you know.

I'll also be going to the hospital for several medical tests. They're checking out my health, doing an EKG and such, to see if I'm healthy enough to donate a kidney to my brother. So, while I wouldn't really count that as Spring Break awesome-ness, it should still be interesting. Extremely not awesome Spring Break stuff includes the homework that needs to be done because I have a mid-term and a mid-term assignment due the week we get back, and then several assignments all due the beginning of March. Boo-urns!

But still: Cupcakes! :)
