Well, I haven't been doing a lot of actual sewing. However, I have been doing a lot of planning. I decided that my stays really are a late 1780s-1790s shape, and am trying to make plans for my fabric accordingly. So, I am still making a petticoat out of my gold striped taffeta. With it will go a red brocade jacket, but the style of jacket is still up in the air. The chocolate brown silk/linen mix is going to be a redingote. What is holding me up is finding an economical use of the 4m of dark purple fabric I have. I think it's a polyester shantung or something of that sort. I want to use up as much as I can because I don't think I'll ever use it for anything else, and it's probably going to be one of my first garments I make before cutting into any of my nicer fabrics. I was thinking of some sort of round gown, either the earlier style that looks like a regular Anglaise or a later style that's gathered in front, like a chemise gown with long sleeves. I'm having fun with this part of things. I really think the planning is the most fun. :)
