My day improves

I got my book in the mail today! :) It's Corsets: Historical Patterns and Techniques by Jill Salen. It's a really great book. Kind of like a cross between Janet Arnold and Corsets and Crinolines. The patterns in the book are a decent size, not all tiny, and on a grid, so it looks like they'll be easier to scale up. My only caveat is that there isn't much info on construction and not enough pictures of the beautiful corsets. Although I don't think any books of that sort can ever have enough pictures. Maybe if they one day send interactive models with the books. ;p There are two corsets that are considered "projects" and the construction of those ones are much more detailed, so that's neat. The corsets span 1750-1920, although it's a little spotty for mid-1800s. There are quite a few for the 1790s, which I think is really neat because you get to see the transition, and for 1885-1910. I definitely recommend this one.
