Dear Powers That Be,

Please stop making our heat not work at night. It would be greatly appreciated. Doubtless the -40 degree weather has little effect on you, but for us poor mortals it gets a bit chilly, even inside. Thank you kindly.

The thing is that the heat isn't really broken. Just the intake pipe outside gets filled with ice (condensation freezes in it), so no air gets in. It only happens when it's REALLY cold and someone will go outside and hit the pipe to break the ice. Sometimes, though, it happens when everyone is already in bed, so it's not noticeable unless you wake up in the middle of the night. It kind of fixes itself when it warms up in the morning. :)
