More pictures
Jun. 5th, 2007 02:51 pmAs promised, more pictures! These are the stays I am making for my friend. It's two layers of a beige cotton twill, with one layer of gold drapery(?) fabric, flat-lined. The seam allowances will all be turned under and whip-stitched down later. It will be bound in dark red with red ribbon sewn on the seam lines and some criss-crossing red ribbon on the front, like this.
You may notice that these stays have straps and the pics for mine do not. Well I forgot to cut out the straps and they can't be sewn on until way later anyways, so I cut them out and they're sitting around somewhere. The straps for these ones are only sewn on for the fitting. I'll remove them later. Next up: learning how to put in metal eyelets. :)
So, behind the cut:

(Pretty close to what it looks like in natural light. A warm golden colour.)

(More what it looks like in artificial light. Kinda greeny.)
(Showing flat-lining and very large seam allowances.)
