I want to flatline (ie. treat fashion fabric and lining as one) my skirt for my 1895 ensemble. I'm using a wool suiting and planning on lining with a plain, lightweight cotton. I'm using this pattern. My question is: do you think it's alright to flatline the wool or do you think the bias will make it wonky after I've left it to hang before hemming? It's very bias-y and I'm worried that the wool will stretch more than the cotton.

I would do it, definitely let it hang for as long as possible before flatlining the bottom and hemming, and pin the hems together while it hangs

Thanks for the advice! Good tip on pinning the hem while it's hanging.

Go ahead and flatline it. You can baste the hems or not, as you please, and then trim them even after everything has hung out. They say to let the bias hang out at least 24 hours, but you can always wait several days, if you aren't sure it's done stretching.

Thanks! When I've done other bias skirts, I always let them hang for a day or two, but usually the lining is separate.
