Gloves

I had a massage therapy appointment today and the massage place is conveniently located next door to one of the best vintage clothing stores in the city. So I stopped by there to have a quick peek at the gloves. I scored a pair of buff-coloured, over-the-wrist, suede gloves for $7! (Originally $14!) They're lovely soft suede made from English leather, according to the inside stamp. I got them to go with all my outdoorsy-type stuff that I'll be making in the next couple of years, like my 1895 tailor-made gown, my Little House Winter dress, and my 1790 riding habit. Looking at fashion plates, it looks like buff gloves were worn for many decades for anything involving leaving the house during the day, like walking, cycling, etc.

No pictures because I am busy. I just finished sewing up my bedroom curtains and am about to start packing boxes with my stuff. Hoping to get them shipped out today. Whew!

yay, gloves! Hard to find ones that fit your own hands at times (my fingers are loooong and thin), a good deal you got, yay!

I have little child hands with short fingers. Seriously, I've only met like one other adult with hands my size. But vintage gloves are frequently small with shorter fingers, so they often fit! It's my new guilty pleasure. ;)
