Sewing and such
Apr. 28th, 2006 05:59 pmNow that all my exams are done I have had time to get on with sewing. I'm working on a mock-up of an 1880's corset. The pattern comes from that patent site with multiple corset patterns. It hasn't been going very well. For starters it was much too short. It was also too big. Well the bust definitely looks too big, the waist and hips are iffy right now. Plus fitting was complicated due to the fact that I couldn't really insert temporary boning. So, right now it is a scrunched up yellow thing on top of my two working mock-ups. I think I should also mention that I do not enjoy sewing curved seams especially when one piece is curved and the other has a straight edge. I'll get back to work on that sometime soon as I really do want a working Victorian corset.
