Did mock up number 2. Yay! It fit fairly well at first. Then I tried it on again later and was able to lace it much tighter and the edges were meeting at the waist. Woke up this today and took off about 2 inches at the waist. Now there is an almost completely even 3-4 inch gap at the back. And it's really comfortable. I like wearing it. I'm so proud of myself. :) Maybe I'll take some pictures of this one before I take it apart for the pattern. I need more cable ties and would like some canvas for the interlining before I do the real thing. I'm SO excited. It's going so well. And it will be done WAY before the 1830s corset. I don't know what I was thinking when I decided to do all that handwork. Clearly I should know by now that I don't have the patience for that kind of thing. Anybody have any hints about making 18th century stays that I should know about?
