I'm back!

I've been back for a few days now, but I think I'm still recovering a bit from the time change and the frantic whirlwind that was my trip overseas. I'm trying to be productive and get some things done like uploading photos, new sewing project, thesis research, and work. Not surprisingly, I've changed my mind again about the HSF 2014 and, instead of a riding habit waistcoat, I am making a 1790s chemise gown for the Art challenge. I have some white striped cotton that I have washed and ironed and I enlarged a pattern from Patterns of Fashion for a base. I am using the lining and sleeve pattern from the open robe but lengthening the bodice and making the sleeves wrist-length. I want a fitted lining and back with a gathered front. I also want to make those cool sleeves where they are separate from elbow to wrist and with the stripes going down at the top half and diagonally on the lower half. I'm at a bit of a standstill with this project because I don't have anything sitting around to make a mock-up of at the moment. However, the mail today contained a flyer from the local fabric store and there is a good deal on broadcloth which should be just fine for mock-ups.

I'm gonna try and get back on track with posting somewhat regularly. Now that my pictures are on the computer I can do some posts about my trip, place by place so it's not a super huge post.
