The Past Few Days

See, sewing progress. This is the work I've done the past couple of days. The bodice is actually slightly further along than the pictures show. I have all the seams bound and the shoulder straps sewn to the fronts. The binding is yellow on the side seams because I ran out of white and didn't feel like going to the hassle of getting more white, so I just used the next lightest colour sitting around so it wouldn't show through. I also ran out of white thread, so a good chunk of it has been sewn with off-white thread. But none of that is noticeable unless you're looking inside the dress, which I hope people won't do while I'm wearing it. ;p

Bodice piece number four, which had all the kinks worked out. Finally!

The whole bodice is flat-lined with white cotton.

Progress as of the middle of yesterday. It actually looks like a bodice!

Nicely finished interior with the seams bound. The purple print likes to fray.

Pleats under the bust instead of gathers. I think it looks better this way anyways. This picture also shows you what the fabric is like. It's kind of busy, and not the sort of thing I'd usually wear (even though I picked it out), but it looks suitable for the season.
Off to get more progress done! I plan to get the fashion fabric skirt attached, the zipper inserted, and the facings sewn on by machine. It needs to be done by Saturday, and I need to allow 24 hours to let the skirt hang before hemming since I plan on doing a half-circle skirt.
