The end is in sight
Oct. 27th, 2011 06:14 pmWell, for my Wednesday costume anyways. After sewing on a dozen buttons yesterday evening, the dress is now completely wearable. (This is good because I need to wear it tomorrow!) The only thing left is to sew buttons and buttonholes for the pockets to prevent them from peeking open and showing the white lining, but it's not completely necessary. The fit is a tiny bit snug, but not too bad.I can always let it out a smidge later if it's really bothersome. Aside from that, I like how it looks. The white collar and cuffs really pop against the gloomy dark grey main fabric. It's going to be pretty darn cool with the braids, tights, and the slightly goth-y makeup! :)
It's been tough fitting in sewing time with all the homework that I also have. I'm glad my costume was so simple and straightforward. For the rest of the term I have, on average, about one essay a week, so I'm pretty busy. However, I still want to get started on the plum wool jacket next week. By doing a little bit at a time, I may still get it done before winter really sets in. Here's hoping!
