Birthday Present
Jun. 3rd, 2011 05:42 pmI made this as a birthday present for a friend. Somehow, last weekend, we got onto talking about aprons and vintage stuff. So this is a retro-inspired apron made out of quilt leftovers. It has a ruffle around the edge and two pockets made from rejected quilt squares. There's really nothing left of this fabric now. The narrow hem foot came in handy again for hemming the ruffle and ties. I'm pretty happy with this project and think it's cute. :)

A couple other projects are in the works. Right now, sewing up a tucked petticoat. A flounced petticoat is still sitting around in pieces to go under it. I'm going to finish turning my china silk slip into a camisole. I got some ivory satin to have another go at this slip-making business. Plus I have a vintage knickers pattern drafted up to try in this fabric too. And there's the tank dress. I'm determined to get all these done before going off onto another project.
