My slip is being difficult. It's wonky in some way that I don't understand and may be due to the grainlines being funny or something with the bias. Anyways, I'm thinking it may become a camisole instead. Next slip I make will not be on the bias or will be made out of a sturdier fabric.

On another note, I think my next sewing project will be quick and easy. I want to make a tank dress out of an old tank top I never really wear. Like this tutorial. I figure if I make a really casual dress and make sure that I put pockets in it, it'll be something that I actually wear on a regular basis. There are so many times that I choose not to wear the things I make because I think they're either too nice for whatever I'm doing or I don't feel like carrying around a purse. I'm not a purse person (a purson? :p) and like to put all my things in my pockets. And since I don't have any dresses or skirts with pockets... well, you get the idea. So that's the plan. Black tank top with black elastic (which I need to get ) and leftover pink cotton print from my quilting adventure. (I like the idea of this project because it'll should be quick, easy, and use up stuff I already have.) And if it goes well, I could see myself making a lot of these. I have an old red tank with a hole by the hem that would look really good with a black print skirt...

I've also got other news. I am semi-employed (which is good because my schooling needs paying for) as a writer at Foundations Revealed. I'm writing an article for that now on Early Victorian Undergarment Layers, which will come out sometime this summer. It has been a lot of fun to research and write about. I don't think I've ever been able to write so much about one subject!

Sorry the silk is being evil!

And congrats on the article! That sounds like fun!

I'm going fabric shopping today and will hopefully find something less evil. :) Thanks! It is a lot of fun.
