Circle Skirt Fun

mala_14Waistband is on, and the circle skirt is now hanging on the dress dummy, stretching out the bias. And pictures!
Look! It's so flare-y! (The white peaking out at the bottom is the lining already stretching out more than the fashion fabric.)
Boring picture. It hangs a little funny from the dummy. I guess cuz I lined it with a cotton that grabs the mannequin fabric a little.
This is the closure. I'm so proud at my progress with zippers. They give me hardly any sass now. There's a little gap between the band and the zipper end because the circumference of the opening ended up being a touch too big. To make it smaller I had to attach the waistband a little further away. These things happen I guess. I'm also super proud of the waistband, because it has the pointy end and was the right length and everything. And the buttonhole was the right size for the button too! I considered doing a bound button hole but felt too lazy after handstitching down the inside of the waistband. It's interlined with corset coutil to make it sturdier.
All in all I'm quite happy with this. And all that's left to do is the hem.
