Whaa???!!!

Dumbledore is gay?! So I just read in an article. JK is the one who said it, so it's not some kind of weird rumour or anything. I'm kinda surprised. Not in a shocked way, just in a I never really thought about Dumbledore's sexual orientation at all way. To me, Dumbledore just never appeared in a romantic sort of light. He was sort of off in his own little saving-the-universe world, in which those sort of relationships didn't exist. Well, I guess that shows me and my perceptions. :)

Back to studying for mid-terms. *sigh*

Lol! Nope, me too! My co-worker IM'd me when they found out. The exchange went something like this:

co-wo: Hey, did you know that Dumbledore is gay?
me: You mean the actor that plays him? Yeah... sure... since LOTR
co-wo: No, the character. JK Rowlings just said he was.
me: ???... Really?
co-wo: Yeah. I don't really see it.
me: Me either... why would that even matter? He's too busy saving the world and stuff.

I was also very amused and somewhat confused. I guess I just never read that much into any of his encounters/discussions. I just figured he was really good friends with Grindelwald. I suppose I also kind of stuck him in the "too old to think about that stuff" category. You know, like with your grandparents. Intellectually I know that they had sex (after all, I'm here aren't I?), but I just don't think of them as sexual beings in any sense of the word.

I totally agree! Especially with the grandparents thing. That's exactly what Dumbledore has always seemed like. Weird! :s
