I'm sick and there's a cat

I've had a bad sinus cold the past few days. Not fun, especially since it makes me wake up during the night even more frequently than usual. Although I've had some interesting dreams as a result, like the other night I was a Power Ranger with the rest of the original Power Rangers cast. I'm slowly recovering and using up more kleenexes than I ever thought possible. Ick!

In other ick news, there is a cat. Now I really like cats. I've always wanted a cat. But the person who lives next to me has a cat that likes to go from her balcony to my balcony. She had to come over to pick up her cat once. Seemed a bit of a hassle to me, so I decided to try deterring the cat by spraying some vinegar on my balcony. I hadn't seen the cat since. But it must have been over here because today the neighbour woke me up while I was trying to catch up on sleep so that She Could Clean Up The Poop Her Cat Left On My Balcony! Seriously. So tell me guys, how do I stop this cat from coming over here and having a repeat of this episode? I've read that cats don't like citrus so getting some sort of citrus spray is the next thing I'm gonna try.

In other, better, news, planning on trying to get some sewing done today. I have a little bit of homework that needs doing, but most of the day is dedicated to trying to motivate myself to sew.

ETA: It occurs to me that I'm in a turf war with a cat. So ridiculous.

There's some cat-b-gone kinda stuff you can buy that will deter them.

Or if you are cheap and evil you just sprinkle cayenne pepper on your balcony...I did that for raccoons once, worked like a charm.

I'll keep the cayenne in mind if it keeps happening. Thanks!

We did cayenne once when our dog kept pawing at a bare spot in the yard. It also happened to be a spot where the bird feeder had been, and there were some seeds still about. I'm not sure if it kept the dog away, but once we saw some birds land in the spot and pop right back out.

Hm... I guess most animals are averse to cayenne. Not my dog though. We put hot sauce on the bathtub because she kept licking it, but she just licked off all the hot sauce like it was no big deal. lol

Hehe! Then I guess it's not just our weird dog!

One of our dogs didn't have a problem with hot things either!

Why do we have to chase it away???? 😕
But if it's a direct route that you know the cat is taking, try lining it with aluminum foil. They don't like the sound under their paws. We lined our dresser and a few shelves and Little won't jump on them anymore.

Ohhhhh and hope you feel better soon!

lol Thanks. I'm recovering.

It's hermit, people-hating me that wants the cat away. I didn't have a problem with the cat until it pooped on my balcony. I just didn't want to have to deal with the person coming over to pick up her cat all the time when she realized it had gone missing to my place. That's why I started with the vinegar. :P

Um, it sounds like your neighbor needs to keep her cat inside. You should not have to be responsible for this. Tell her you're going to call animal control (or whatever the equivalent is by you) and report her for neglect if her cat keeps straying.

I'm cranky today though so YMMV.

Or you could just put a litter box on your balcony, buy better food than she gets for the cat, and bribe it into being YOUR cat...muahahahaha!

lol It totally wanted to come in and hang out with me! It sat at my door and windows meowing at me.

I'm cranky too. If it keeps happening, I will probably end up saying something to the building manager about it. I can't have a cat pooping on my balcony!
