No sewing lately. (Although I did mark and iron the hems on one flounce yesterday. It took forever!) I've been working on English essays. It's end of term and that's always a crazy time for assignments. I have two more essays to go (out of four) and then exams start. So sewing is on a bit of a break. (Plus I need a new fast-fade, erasable pen for marking things like flounce hems. Mine's all dried out.)
I do have other costume-y news. I found out that my grandmother still has a bunch of clothes from the sixties and possibly earlier. I wasn't too sure on what she was saying due to the language barrier, and my dad's lack of ability to translate questions about vintage clothing. But for sure stuff from the sixties (which she said a neighbour made for her) and I think fifties (from before she immigrated here). On the way home from visiting that grandmother, my mom brought up the fact that Her mom (the other grandmother, sadly no longer with us) left a bunch of vintage clothes in a trunk. They're from the fifties and apparently some are brocades. My uncle (who has her stuff) said I should take them. So that's both grandmothers with vintage clothing that I get to investigate! (...After exams. ;p)
