Two good things happened today.

Good thing the first: I was in my Victorian Lit. class looking at my drawings for potential sewing ideas and the two ladies who sit beside me complimented me on the sketches. I told them that I was just doodling ideas for sewing historical costumes. One of the ladies began to tell me all about her quilt group and how she'd just started quilting lately and that she had a friend who used to work for the government sewing historical costumes for re-enactors. She was pretty interested in the sewing that I've done, and we discussed various types of embroidery as well. That was an interesting and cheerful conversation. Then the other lady told me about her antique clothing collection. Turns out she bought a lot of late Victorian and Edwardian clothing from antique sales years ago before antiques were really popular. She got some great deals, things like bodices for $10. She said that her favourites are mourning clothes and lingerie gowns/teagowns. So that was really fun.

Good thing the second: My Past Patterns order came in the mail today. So I now have a hip-length jacket and a dress pattern, in addition to the Smooth Sailing Wearing History pattern, in my repro pattern collection. I'm excited to start working on these.
