My mom

I am making a dress for her. I started yesterday and she needs it by Sunday. Luckily, it seems simple and I pinned the lining on her yesterday and all the changes I had to make to the pattern seemed to work. :) So, less posting today and more sewing. Off to cut out the dupioni (which is teal and black shot) and sew all the main seems together. I'm flat-lining and and will pin the darts on her to fit. It's this pattern (view C), but I altered it so that there's no waistband (horizontal lines right at the natural waist are not flattering for all body types) and darted instead of there being multiple pieces of skirt. I think I'm really starting to get the hang of this whole sewing thing. The whole picturing things in the mind and then getting them out with my hands is starting to come together. I'm finished exams. I had my only one on Monday. It went well, but I got sick that day. However, after copious amounts of hot water, honey, and lemon juice, my sore throat has finally gone away. And just in time because tonight I'm out with the girls. We're going to have a night of snacks and drinks and then head out to the bar. I'm super excited! :D
