Angry at my feet

As I was paid yesterday (My first paycheck at this job! Woot!), I went shopping today. I really needed some nice clothes. My current "nice clothes that I like to wear" wardrobe consisted of a sweater and a silk shirt. And I'm in business school where we always need to dress up for presentations. So I figured some business appropriate clothing was in order. I also have an engagement party coming up and needed something to wear for that. Two birds with one stone, as it were, this shopping expedition. I bought a nice black skirt, very plain, with some interesting seaming. (Being 5 ft. tall, it was difficult finding skirts that weren't below my knees, thus making me look even shorter than I actually am. I need to grow.) I thought that was a good start. I also purchased some tights to wear with it, also black, with a cool diamond-y stripe woven in. Then I saw a pair of green, argyle kneesocks, which I have been searching for for years, so I bought those too. All in all, I figured I was pretty productive and was happy with my purchases... Until I started looking for some nice shoes.

I've decided that I hate my feet and will just wear runners for the rest of my life. I have feet that are a 6.5, which sucks cuz lots of things don't come in half sizes. But that's only the tip of the iceberg. My feet are also stupidly wide. It is ridiculous. (And this is not even taking into account that my feet are also ridiculously flat and I have to wear special inserts that a pediatrist made me in my runners. They are hard plastic and thus cannot go into nice shoes.) So I was off looking for nice black shoes. razzrffrzzzl Everything hurt my stupidly wide right foot. I must have tried on like 10 pairs of shoes. I have decided I need a cobbler.

But other than that the shopping expedition was a success. I now have a nice outfit that I can wear with runners. ;p
