Holiday doings
Dec. 21st, 2007 05:13 pmI took a few obligatory days off after finishing exams in which I slept in 'til about noon and did nothing but read historical fiction. It was lovely, but eventually this gets tiring and real things must be done. So, yesterday and today I made cream puffs. Yesterday I did the puff part, and today the cream part. Mmm... Whipped cream.
It's my and my friends' Annual Christmas Potluck today. (As it's at least the 6th one, I think it deserves capitals.) I am so excited. We all make lots of delicious food and go to my friend's house (yeah, the same house every year. I feel kind of bad for her) and pig out, then have a bit of a break, go into her basement and open presents, for which we have a Secret Santa gift exchange. (Or a not-so-Secret Santa gift exchange. I'd say that everybody probably tells at least one or two people who they have AND some people actually get to pick who they're buying for.) This is a good idea because there's usually about 20 of us, and buying that many gifts would just suck. I have a very good friend who I have been friends with since I was about four. So that's 17 years. Suffice to say, getting her a gift was not that difficult. (Soft pyjama pants and a picture frame with "friends" stuff written on it.)
I've actually been sewing. Well, no that's a bit of a lie. I started sewing a little angel ornament for my boyfriend's mom. They have a small tree specifically for angel stuff and she likes ornaments, so I figured that'd be a good idea. Soon, I will get working on those eyelets. I only have two done so far, but that shouldn't be too difficult to remedy. It's just getting started that's the difficult part. And remember when I said I wanted to have the stays done by the end of the holidays? Umm... Yeah... About that... Maybe just done by my birthday. :p
