Well, slowly, but surely, I am getting stuff done. On Tuesday I cut out my friend's fashion fabric for her stays. It's some sort of synthetic fabric in a warm gold with a scrolly, leafy pattern. It'll be trimmed and bound in dark red. Yesterday I was too busy helping my boyfriend make chili for his birthday party to do any sewing. But today I sewed together the pieces. Well, all but the front pieces and the straps. Once I get those on and throw in some eyelets (metal, not handsewn), it'll be ready for a second fitting and some pictures, which I will be sure to post.

Also, I finished reading Corsets and Crinolines cover-to-cover. It was great. Extremely informative. The only thing that kinda threw me off was the amount of contemporary quotes, some of which were long and in French. Unfortunately, I don't really know that much French and I was too lazy to translate it all with my dictionary, so I sorta skimmed the short ones to get the general idea, and skipped the long ones. I loved all the pictures though. And the patterns will be coming in very useful in the future, I'm sure.
