My Puppy

My dog, Zandra, isn't doing so well lately. Today her hips seem to be giving her trouble supporting her body. I'm really worried about her. She's almost 15 years old, and for a large dog that's REALLY old. Lately she's been having lots of problems with going to the bathroom. Like other old people she has to go every 2-3 hours. And this morning when she was let out, after she went to the bathroom she just laid down on the snow in the -40 degree Celsius weather and my dad had to go carry her back inside. Her hips I guess aren't stable enough, and today she was holding her hind legs really awkwardly under her to try to stay standing so she could eat and drink. Poor puppy. We've had her since I was six, and now she's so old that I know she won't be around much longer, and I don't know what I'll do without her. She's a really intelligent dog, and hardly like a dog at all, she's so human. And a few months ago she seemed so much better. Even though she was getting old and stiff, we started giving her this herbal supplement and changed her food, and she really seemed to perk up and started doing things like running and bounding around like a puppy. And now, poor thing... sigh.
