I've begun a new dress because I need something that I can wear in the winter/autumn months that looks nice and can go with my cream high heels. I'm using a Simplicity pattern and I had to take off about 7 inches from the bottom. (Here's the pattern 4577, View B with short skirt and no overlay: http://www.simplicity.com/index.cfm?page=thumbnail.cfm&cat=1&type=1&sec=4&StartRow=10 ) Darn being short and wanting a dress that is above the knee! So far I've cut out the pattern and shortened the hem. I was then interrupted by having to feed the dogs. Now it's back to cutting out.
Note: I was so silly. I got a zipper and thread a little while ago when I got the pattern. Then I took the bag of stuff downstairs to begin and took it all out of the bag, and in the bag was a zipper and thread that I had already bought. On the plus side, the second zipper that I got doesn't really match because they were having a sale and thus there was nothing there, but it will match other fabric that I have that I wanted to make a dress from.
