I've been lazy and doing very little sewing. The binding is done on the top of my Elizabethan stays. I really like the contrast of the red and black. That's really all I've done. It's terrible.
I had my first day of school. Luckily, with my scheduling, I don't have school on Fridays, EVER. Hooray for 3 day weekends!!!
I also recently found out that my good friend's girlfriend has started getting into historical fiction and, through that, historical clothing. How exciting! I had trouble convincing her that corsets don't hurt though, because she sort of works in theatre and tried on a boned Elizabethan something and said that it hurt. I said, "OF COURSE it hurt. It wasn't made for you," and proceeded to explain to her about why stays are wonderful things that make you look so much better and thinner even though they make you thicker. She says that she really wants to see my stays and would love it if I was able to make her 18th century ones. (She's all into 18th century because the book she read, and said she'll lend to me, was set then.) Yes, I'm dorkily excited to find someone else who is near me who is interested in the same dorky things as me.
