Having a bad day

It started off with having a bad dream. I don't really remember it, but I definitely felt bad while sleeping and bad dreams always throw off my day.
Then I got woken up early, hearing the dog whining. So I get up to let her out because I figure that's what she wants. Except when I let her back in, I notice she's limping... and acting weird, running around all restless. She's pulled muscles before and it's not a big deal, but her behaviour scared me. She wouldn't lie down. I tried letting her out again, but her leg was bothering her badly enough that she couldn't go to the bathroom, which I think was what had her all restless. I called my dad and brother, but neither answered, so I had to wait for them to call back. Meanwhile the dog finally laid down, but she was having trouble with that because of her leg. Then, for a minute, I thought she wasn't moving which really freaked me out. But then I saw she was breathing and eventually she growled at me at bit, which was reassuring. (She doesn't like being bothered when she's lying down. It's more grumbling than real growling.) Eventually I talked to my dad and brother and my dad was able to come home from work to check on the dog. After a while she sort of normal-ed out and now is fine, but with a limp.
So things improved and I ate and started watching Vanity Fair, which is from 2004 and which I have been wanting to see since 2004 but haven't really had the opportunity to in the past 11 years. I was pretty stoked when I saw that it was on TV a couple of days ago and recorded it on the DVR. I was watching it and enjoying it but noticed that things weren't wrapping up as quickly as I expected considering the time left on the recording. Yeah, the guide was wrong and my recording didn't get the whole movie. And it's not on TV again any time soon. And I don't have Netflix or anything of that nature.
Today is also the day of my department's grad students association end-of-year event. The plan was to go to Epic Escape, which is a sort of game where you are locked in a room and trying to find a way out and sounds super fun and everyone I know who has gone says is awesome, followed by an evening at a local pub. I was planning on taking the bus, but my dad assured me that either he or my mom would be home so I could get a ride there. Good stuff right? Except that traffic was horrendous and my dad did not inform my mom of this plan in a timely fashion. My mom didn't get home until the time that I was already supposed to be at Epic Escape. So I am stuck at home waiting for that to finish before I can go out and meet up with them.
Oh, and it's raining. Blah.
It wasn't an absolutely terrible day with life-changing stuff or anything like that, just a plain ol' bad day. I know tomorrow will be much better and am looking forward to doing some serious sewing and catching up on some Mr. Selfridge with my boyfriend.
